DISCERNMENT

Art by Jaquamarine

Discernment helps us see through the smoke and mirrors and see a situation for what it truly is. Being discerning supports our ability to view the world from a place of inner balance, reassurance and detachment.

Instead of getting triggered and frustrated, discernment is an embodied form of mastery, bringing compassion and wisdom to things that may appear inconvenient. We learn to view situations not from a personal victim story, projection, blame or fault, but from a higher assessment of reality, based on non-judgment and non-attachment.

With discernment, we can see the triggers, plots and booby traps before they occur

Discernment comes from a higher perspective and is connected to intuition, intellect, and critical thinking faculty and fused to our heart’s intelligence.  Discernment lends us the ability to perceive, understand and judge things, especially around spiritual subjects that are not obvious or straightforward, and it gives us the ability to see the truth and to make sound judgments.

We can develop discernment by praying for wisdom or guidance as part of daily practice, so we can trust our intuition whenever we are faced with choices that may impact us.

Discernment helps us make wise decisions; the more discerning, the higher our vibration becomes. When we can discern what is true, right and good, we are more likely to make choices that are in our best interest and for the benefit of others.

Seeing reality for what it is, is discernment.  If you are unsure whether something is right for you, it is always best to err on the side of caution. Walk away from anything that doesn't feel right and trust your intuition.

There is no need to be scared or confused on the spiritual path if you practice discernment. You can operate in full awareness with both feet on the ground, being mindful as the observer while extracting information from situations to make good choices. Discernment is foundational for spiritual practice.
