Zen, neutral, presence, or living in the now, is a way of life, of living in the moment, being mindful through simplicity, compassion and authenticity.  It’s a state of mind characterized by clarity, calmness and inner peace. By living authentically, we can achieve a state of being that is both calming and fulfilling.

The present moment is all there is

Zen is a philosophy that originated in China and later spread to Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. Zen brings together several spiritual ideas and is about accepting life as it is, and living in harmony with the world around us.

The concept of Zen is often associated with meditation and helps us focus on the present moment and let go of thoughts and worries. Through meditation or stillness, we can learn to be more mindful or present in our daily lives. We can observe our thoughts without getting caught up in them and bring calm to the mind.

Zen involves living a simple life, focusing on the present moment, the things that are truly important to us, and letting go of the things that are not. It means getting rid of clutter, both physical and mental, to simplify.

Zen, like acceptance, is about cultivating compassion and empathy, by showing kindness and understanding towards others even when we do not agree with them. It means treating everyone with respect and seeking to understand other perspectives. When we practice compassion and empathy we create a sense of interconnectedness with others, and this can help us feel more connected to the world around us.

Zen is not just about being calm and peaceful, it is also about living an authentic life. This means being true to self and following our path, rather than trying to fit with the expectations of others. We are bound to a soul journey we must honour, so the application of Zen means being honest with ourselves and others, and striving to live a life that truly reflects our soul's essence, values and beliefs
